@LawProfHolloway No Theedoms are a north England family. Muir is my Mum’s maiden name. They were Loyalists who came to Shelburne in 1783 from New York. Originally from Ayrshire.

@dtheedom Are the Theedoms part of the Clan Muir? There was a TV show when I was a kid called, “The Ghost and Mrs Muir”. It wasn’t that good, but it followed “Get Smart”, so I watched it.

@LawProfHolloway It the Muir tartan. This pic is when I did a 5km kilt run with some friends in 2011. I watched that movie a few years ago after you suggested it. Very apropos!

@brynde The whole scenario hinged on this person coming into the FOB and detonating a bomb as part of the exercise. The instructors had to re-start the scenario and told me to let this person in next time 2/2.

@brynde After I joined the Reg F and was doing my PLQ, we were doing a scenario where I was “guarding” the gate of a FOB in a hostile area waiting for a “General” who was arriving. He arrived and said he was Gen. de Chastelain. I replied that he wasn’t, as I had met him twice.1/2

The Irish Dept. of Justice has issued an apology. Gen. De Chastelain is alive and well.

@ParlCharlie Senate fantasy league? That’s a whole new level of nerdiness! I like it.

The nerds in my parliamentary procedure fantasy league have a simulation running of the Senate where - given a group must have 9 members under the Rules to be recognized - there are the maximum 11 groups (11*9=99) + 6 gov rep caucus senators. It can work... kinda 🤣

My Strategic Studies group is now asking the question, ‘Why have a Defence budget at all?’ There comes a point where defence assets are unusable because they aren’t able to be sustained, even for maintenance purposes. It’s a good question.

@MustangMan_TX Yes. I was part of the International Naval Review in New York City. It was spectacular. (And I got to go see the Yankees play the Royals two days after the 4th.)
