The outright abolition of leasehold overnight is almost certainly impossible and we won’t pretend otherwise. But this Labour government is bringing the feudal leasehold system to an orderly end in this Parliament. My @instituteforgov keynote speech 👇🏻 gov.uk/government/spe…

Huge congratulations to Hull City on securing a well-deserved place in the play-offs! 🐯 This is a fantastic achievement for the club, the players, and the incredible supporters who’ve backed the team every step of the way. The energy across our city is building!

@SteveReedMP Its weird how you seem so vocal about antisemtism but have been silent on the antisemtic caricature of Polanski in the Times this weekend

The vile racists I witnessed in Corbyn’s Labour are now in the Greens. Polanski has to get a grip.

@Keir_Starmer @UKLabour Shameful from a supposedly former human rights lawyer. Repeatedly booting someone in the head whilst theyre on the ground can cause serious damage and even death

Zack Polanski’s criticism of the police officers response to the Golders Green attack was disgraceful. He’s not fit to lead any political party.

@SamJRushworth @YorkshireBamf Except he was already on the ground after being tasered before they started repeatedly kicking him in the head. He was incapacitated when they decided to beat the shit out of him

@YorkshireBamf If I were these officers - unarmed and facing a potentially armed terrorist who could have been concealing a weapon or suicide vest - I would want my boss to defend me like Sir Mark has.

What has become of the Green Party when Sir Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has to write to its leader, Zack Polanski, to tell him his inaccurate and misinformed commentary is contributing to rising tensions? Jewish people deserve to feel safe, but they don't.

Wow, in a very unusual step the Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has sent a blistering letter to Green Party leader Zack Polanski saying he shouldn’t be retweeting “armchair critics” who criticised officers for kicking the Golders Green attacker in the head.

“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.” Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.

In British politics, this sort of intervention is unprecedented. And Sir Mark Rowley is absolutely correct in what he says. Polanski should now offer an immediate, full apology. While he seeks to divide, we must all thank the extraordinary Met officers who stepped in.

@electrodecay @MikeTappTweets If they were armed police a bullet would’ve been justified as he was approaching them with a knife. Is that heavy handed as it can cause death?

Our brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.

There is simply no basis for any MP - inc grandstanding Labour dissidents - to vote for @Keir_Starmer to go to the privileges committee. It's in black & white that he followed the rules. This is the first socialist govt since the 2000s - you want to destabilise it for what?
