@providerofpercs @RustyGremlin @AimeeSuB @annamlulis I don’t give a damn what color he is. No sensible American should. I care about how he lives and what he believes. Looks like he and I are on the same page. But anyone who’s fixated on what color he is is not on the same page. Not how we think in this country.

@Stephanieee_bz @annamlulis “Latino” a definition that attempts to encompass millions of individuals from dozens of different countries. Implying that someone from Ecuador is the same as someone from Mexico. A thoroughly absurd notion. He’s an American.

Today, my son Jaden received his First Holy Communion, and my heart is so full. Watching him take this step in faith was such a beautiful and proud moment. Blessings upon blessings as he continues to grow in God’s grace.

@StuffForSisters I think it’s important to go to one particular parish, and get involved in that parish life and activities. That’s more important than stylistic preferences. But a simple demand for obedience because he prefers a particular style is a stupid use of a husband‘s authority.

A Catholic family with children has a husband who greatly favors one form of the Mass and a wife who equally favors another. If the husband concludes that consistently attending together the Mass he favors is best for their family, ought his wife obey him?

@Carl275Mad @annamlulis What do you mean we “don’t want you here?” Puerto Ricans are American citizens. This is thoroughly ignorant comment.

@madcowpanzer @kelly_o_edwards Because in Catholic circles that's not how it works. Men should make the first move (this is not unique to Catholics, btw. Nearly all women would prefer that men make the first move).

There are lots of great ladies looking for a Catholic husband. And at the same time, Catholic young men who "want to marry a Catholic girl" yet seem to be prevented by various insecurities or mysterious other obstacles. Genuinely asking as a pastor, how do we fix this??

@madcowpanzer @kelly_o_edwards No, it’s worse than that. The men are not even making the attempt. The ladies complain that no one asks them out, and no one asks them to dance at weddings. There is no input to the system.

@federoffm @kelly_o_edwards I find it hard to believe that there aren't men who would marry them, are the women just turning everyone down cause they're not good enough?

@DrDaniS Yes. This. Precisely. Once you taught me (and countless others) the pattern on Chris Williamson's show, I can't unsee it. Keep shouting it from the housetops, Doctor.

"it should be obvious to any thinking person that a definition which classifies 90% of men and 70% of women as rapists is in-practice useless." 🙋‍♀️ Yes, Dani? I'm amazed to see you have something to share. 😁 Allow me to disagree. The issue I have is with the phrase "in-practice useless". I presume the OP means "useless" as in will not serve to effectively differentiate what all sensible people would agree constitutes rape from those actions which the same sensible people agree should not constitute rape, in a court of law. But the OP is making a number of incorrect assumptions, if that is indeed his intended meaning. The main incorrect assumption comes in the form of assuming that those who have put forward this law could give even one stiff shit about its capacity to differentiate criminal from non-criminal behaviour, as per the views of the majority of Europe's sensible people. The only interest those who put forward this legal definition have in the views of Europe's sensible people, is in the ability of this law to change them. One goal, no doubt, is to change sensible people's view of what actually constitutes rape. This is a lofty goal, and it's not expected to be reached to any great lengths. Although any shift in the direction towards this new definition will be roundly celebrated. Other goals are more achievable. One pertains to changing sensible people's views about what they should do and say during courtship to avoid future legal problems. Few seduction tactics are less attractive than insisting upon explicit verbal permission to carry out the specific acts you might, in the near future, attempt to carry out. Such acts are typically sexier to experience than to have described in the level of detail necessary to make sure said acts will fall outside of this new definition. And we have arrived to the point where it should become clear that this law is "in-practice" anything but useless. It will be very effective at doing one of two things: 1. Making courtship awkward and less likely to lead to sex. 2. Ensuring that much sexual activity between consenting adults will indeed fall inside this new definition, making it an extraordinary legal risk for people to take. As a result of both of the above, people in new/burgeoning relationships will have less sex. Those relationships will be less likely to persist And this is precisely the effect, in-practice, that those promoting this new legal definition are hoping it will have. Now, that's not useless. That's fit for purpose. You just need to understand the purpose. The purpose is reproductive suppression. The purpose of progressive elite policy is always reproductive suppression. Thank you making that clear to us, Dani. Again. You're welcome! ☺️
Wilfred Reilly@wil_da_beast630

Leaving pure abstract morality aside, it should be obvious to any thinking person that a definition which classifies 90% of men and 70% of women as rapists is in-practice useless.

Of course, I don’t approve of this negativity toward men. It’s repulsive But the effect of having a gender skew toward female might be positive. Is there a reason to believe we wouldn’t all be happier with, say, 55% women and 45% men?
staysaasy@staysaasy

I hear people say this and it is so sad man. Smart people say stuff like “oh I’d never want a boy. I have to teach them to not be a violent predator.” This framing is fundamentally antagonistic to half the population and a huge problem in society.

In five categories, women are cheating more, yet the framing only focuses on the two categories where men cheat more. This is a misleading and selectively framed presentation of the data.

@literally_chad What matters here (at least from a conjugal perspective) is that he's interested in her. If so, the marriage can be consummated, the babies will arrive in due time, and she might find that she rather likes being married to a man. Nature finds a way.

I don't necessarily recommend marriage in your situation. If you want a lavender marriage with a gay man, you're doing something beyond my understanding but maybe that's the best move.
