@eigenrobot after IL i moved to CA so i've just been giving my blue state vote to libertarians given the amazing candidates we've had the last few elections, but i can theoretically see myself voting for rahm or vance (but not the other dems, i'm too centrist for them)

@eigenrobot he's also done a lot: nafta, assault ban, oslo accords, welfare reform, education, civil rights, ACA/healthcare, dodd frank, etc. i also lived in chicago while he was mayor so i'm biased, but i think he'd have a good chance against vance because he's not afraid to pull punches

met up with a relative who was a senior official in a large state dem administration and he was basically resigned to a jd vance presidency after trump main issue being no viable dem candidates for 2028 seems correct as a baseline prediction i think but a lot can happen ofc
