Spent half an hour this evening teaching my mother the C harmonic minor scale on the piano. You’d think after she put multiple children up to grade 5 on the instrument she would have absorbed the scale fingerings on some level but it was like a new language to her. Thousands of hours spent on music completely oblivious still. As my negative electrical charge increases, I am less concerned about myself and more about steering others toward better behavior. Sometimes a little tragic to read Amos Yee’s takes because his political philosophy and worldview seems permanently frozen at 16 years old. Perhaps the greatest overreach of Singapore was to criminally prosecute a 16 year old libertarian edgelord rather than let him grow up.
Think many Singaporean social / political commentators were probably max liberal (and anti LKY) in their teens. I certainly was. As they say, a man who is not a liberal at 20 has no heart, but a man who is not conservative at 30 has no brain.
When you are young, you assume liberty is a basic right but as you mature you realise that rights come with corresponding obligations. When every man is free - no man is free. Amos advocates for a state of absolute freedom which appeals to the teenage mind but practically translates to anarchy.
Strongly suspect if Singapore did not turn the full weight of the law on a libtard teenager he would have grown up and cringed at his former self.
Instead the state prosecuted him and the low IQ Sinkie anti-PAP clown cabal elevated him to some sort of Singaporean teenage Che Guevara and then subsequently the far left in the US which was in full swing around that time adopted him. Bro then pivoted into being a pedo advocate probably because he wanted to be left of the American far left.
Amos if you are reading this - suggest you read some Hobbes and John Stuart Mill to start and if you detach and play devils advocate, will realise that Singapore - notwithstanding its heavy handedness - works and LKY was a man who had the iron to make the hard decisions to maximise actual rather than theoretical liberty.

This is one of the stupidest fucking tweets I've ever read. The UK at it's worst, ranks far higher than Singapore in self-reported happiness, life satisfaction, with free healthcare and less exploitative work conditions. This is in spite of Britain being more 'dangerous'. You know how every citizen can be safe, and how we can eliminate crime in a country entirely? Put everyone in prison, they have no chance of committing crimes, so crime rate is 0%! Problem solved. But of course Melissa won't advocate that. But why not? Crime will be 0%! Physical safety does not mean jackshit when Singaporeans are suffering internally in stressful school environments and work, and when Singapore is an authoritarian dictatorship where human rights is in the toilet. The UK's human rights abuses pales in comparison. Peaceful protest in Singapore is illegal. They just imprisoned opposition activists for conducting peaceful protests against the death penalty. Millions of Singaporeans live in fear of even voicing a critcism of the government, in fear of losing their job, being reprimanded by their school, or being sent to prison. Lee Kuan Yew in the 1980s under operation spectrum, made up a complete lie that peaceful opposition activists were trying to violently overthrow the Government, arrested over 20 people without trial, and proceeded to beat them up, torture and imprison them for years. But of course, Melissa doesn't mention that. Uninformed? Or intellectually dishonest? What an embarrassment

I sense gems.
I know one Singaporean who is starting a gruelling job soon at a prestigious American firm in London, and he told me that he had a dilemma between taking some time off to travel or accepting a job lecturing at a uni (no discernible gain he’d already got as desirable a job as is possible).
He told me he wanted to travel but the Singaporean in him told him to accept the role. I asked him why and he genuinely couldn’t explain it, he was totally aware of how baffling his own decision was and he was still taking it.
I have several other similar anecdotes with signaporeans.
They can be surface level very nice but I wouldn’t trust any of the ones I know not to leave me dying in the street if it made them late for a job interview.

I've noticed that my blood doesn't turn brown anymore, if I get a wound it'll just seal up, and when some blood dries it remains red, it just goes deeper and deeper red. The other day, I tasted a drop of my blood from a cut, and it did not taste metallic at all, my blood is so negatively charged that it's basically impossible for its iron to rust. Pretty cool.
