Also, despite the fact that most gays are not monogamous for life, gay sex is still harmful. These are facts cited by the CDC. There’s no way around it.

Married heterosexual couples don’t have to worry about using protection in the same way to prevent STDs. Condoms are also a relatively modern invention.
