Let's also be honest: some teams lose a lot due to bad ownership/bad management. Would love to see a rule that if a team doesn't hit a certain winning percentage over X amount of years, it triggers a mandatory sale of the team. If you can't get it done, give someone else a turn. Of course, I know team owners will never approve a rule like that. 😂 But these teams are public trusts. Good owners know they may physically own a team, but really they are stewards of a team, until they pass it on to someone else. (Also being forced to sell in today's NBA means being 'forced' to make billions of dollars so I would not feel bad about a rule like this at all.)
