New Data Alert! 1) Ever wondered what rebel groups are fighting for? We (@raffeman and @johanbrosche) have about 15,000 answers to that question. Today the UCDP Conflict Issues Dataset (UCDP CID) was launched through an article in Journal of Conflict Resolution.

But this has ignited a wave of speculation and skepticism about the motivations behind this decision.
