UPDATE ON THIS INCIDENT: In this incident that has drawn massive uproar in the social media circle, the issue started unfolding when the driver of the Subaru Impreza HEAVILY DRUNK (pictured below) hit a matatu at Roysambu area. Trying to avoid liability he tried to flee the scene by speeding off. However, after speeding for a few meters, he hit a motorbike with a pillion passenger on board. On witnessing this, fellow motorbike riders gave chase but the drunk Subaru driver wasn't going to accept the fate that he knows befalls motorists who hit motorbikes (Watu wa motorbike tafadhali, stop this behaviour of taking the law into your own hands, the beating up of drivers and burning of cars doesn't help, it actually makes motorists cause more damage by trying to run away from you) Back to the story... His friend who was also allegedly somewhat intoxicated on the back seat of the Subaru realised that the situation was getting out of hand and decided to separate himself from the offender and jump off the window of the moving car, sustaining minor bruises. The motorbike guys eventually caught up with the drunk driver and beat him to a pulp and vandalised the car, taking off with the music player and other car accessories He is currently recuperating in a nearby hospital.
