@TheBobPony I think there's a project to backport Chrome to unsupported OSes but I don't knownif it includes XP.
There's another one for Firefox, but it supports only Win7 onwards.

Not only it's been 12 years since Windows XP ended support in 2014... it's also been 10 years since Google Chrome version 49 released in 2016, the last version to support both Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Web browsing the modern web with Chrome 49 is unusable.

@gary54308 Lo ideal sería implementar la parte "smart" como un agregado al electrodoméstico tradicional, para que se integre sin ser obligatorio.
Por ejemplo, poder controlar el microondas por internet y que eso solo haga lo mismo que iniciar el temporizador mecánico, nada más.

Jamás ví la necesidad de hacer "inteligentes" a electrodomésticos tan básicos en concepto como una licuadora, un tostador o hasta un microondas. Solo necesitan hacer su función y así siempre ha sido, no necesitan conectarse a internet bajo ningún concepto para lo que desempeñan.

@AngelDeBlair @microsofterses No solo eso, quisieron implementar el .NET Framework en MUCHAS partes del sistema (especialmente el shell/interfaz gráfica) y en esa época aún estaba muy verde, era más lento e inestable que otra cosa.
Luego del reset se prohibió usar .NET en las áreas importantes del sistema.

@microsofterses Tengo entendido que el sistema de ficheros WinFS fue lo que enterró al proyecto, debido a su inestabilidad y nula compatibilidad, simplemente no lo lograron hacer funcionar

They may use a target system which Linux can’t understand despite being the same architecture (x86).
