Happy Father's Day to our dads and all the father figures in our lives.

Staff and students wore red for #REDshirtDAY. Red shirt day is a day of action for accessibility and inclusion. People across Canada come together to wear red to create a visible display of solidarity by showing support for disabled people and their families!

As part of our unit on Probability, students completed a series of exercises where they had to determine the likelihood of an event to occur. They had 60 seconds to complete an activity, such as water bottle flip, coin stacking, and balloon keep up!

This morning, the grade 5s welcomed our community partner Mim to our school to teach us about the fur trade, its impact on the land, & how it affected both settlers and Indigenous Peoples. Thank you, Mim, for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. (Cc: @IndigenousYCDSB)

As we conlude our unit on substance use, students created these public awareness posters, reminding the dangers of driving under the influence 🚫 🍸 🚗

Mental Health Awareness Week continues. Using sidewalk chalk, students wrote words of inspiration and positivity around our school yard.

Our grade 5s raised over $500 with their Video Arcade this week, all in support of @ShareLifeCan. Well done, students 👏

The final day of our @ShareLifeCan Video Arcade was a massive success. We sold out of all our tickets. Thanks to our grade 5 students who organized this successful week.

Our 3rd annual @ShareLifeCan Video Arcade is here. The grade 5s coded games based on the @UN's 17 Sustainability Development Goals. Ss created games that deal with ending poverty, homelessness, & gender equality. We welcome our junior students to our Arcade tomorrow for day 2!

Today, we welcomed scientist Jackie to our classroom for a hands-on morning of Forces Acting on structures. Students created structures using tape & paper that were able to withstand the force (& weight) of 16 textbooks. Thank you to our CSC for making this experience possible.

Students retold part of the Easter story using the cross ✝️

This morning, we joined our friends at the @OntScienceCtr to learn all about Eclipes and how the 🌞 🌎 &🌙 can momentarily align to block out sunlight. We also learned important tips for eye safety when an eclipse is present.

We're all part of a community. Students created personal community maps identifying the various communities they are a part of, from church to sports teams to families, our lives are full of unique and loving communities.
