I think everyone who owns a business in America is confused right now.

It felt really great to visit my first project! ~4 years ago, after approvals, we sold a 65-lot subdivision. While the homes are larger & more $$ than originally hoped for, Greenwood Homes and Craig Builders built some beautiful new homes! So fun seeing it nearly complete!

Arlington County board officially voted tonight to appeal the ruling on 'missing middle' at their meeting this evening. Chair Garvey says there's concern that the judge's decision could have broader impact on local zoning authority.

Newly released study shows that separated bike lanes reduce maximum car speeds by 28%, average speeds for turning cars by 21%, and 8% for cars going straight. If cities want to reduce speeding, they should install separated/protected bike lanes—it’ll also get more people biking!

@OldUrbanist I *think* it’s just 12 months. So, outside of that, I think it’s really just within the judge's discretion.

@nmscro Do the Virginia courts have a deadline for ruling on submitted motions? I'm only familiar with NY and CT, and both do.

Over three months later and we’re still waiting for a ruling.

This will be the first rate cut since many high-profile YIMBY bills first started to come online in 2022—I'm excited to see more projects pencil.

mayor wade says, "we have been briefed on this" and pinkston makes a motion to move forward with the confidential settlement agreement. it's adopted 5-0 with no explanation, but i guess that's what confidential means.

pretty light agenda for tonight's charlottesville city council meeting. the pre-meeting meeting was an exhilarating presentation on the upcoming budget cycle, which just seems criminally early. the budget never sleeps.

I freaking love these. Cute little row houses like these would sell like hotcakes in Sunbelt cities if they were actually legal to build as infill. The market wants gentile density, we just need the cities to let us build!
