Today’s opinion was deeply disappointing and problematic. This is far from over! Most of the judge’s issues are procedural and can be fixed by @ArlingtonVA in a new action to adopt EHO again.

A chaotic NIMBY lawsuit dismissed. EHO was approved UNANIMOUSLY and technicality lawsuits will not be the end of it.

@arlvabikelanes And it's a LOT less than the large newly built single-family homes that we tend to see around here. I see so many in that image at $2 million + and even $4 million! Whoa! Who can afford that?

A 1M townhouse is unfortunately expensive, largely because land in Arlington is very $$$ and townhouses are bigger than they seem. BUT a 1M townhouse is 300k cheaper than the average house!! Average house: 1.3M Average townhouse/condo: 600k

3) County should reply to citizen letters to let them know zoning allows certain by-right development that cannot be stopped by local gov. Old zoning is not a reflection of what the county leaders want to see happen, which is why EHO was added to diversify the by-right options.

Editorials in a local newspaper are calling for a “halt to upzoning” and decrying “heavy-handed tactics” against plaintiffs in the lawsuit against the county, while another is questioning why very large homes can be built. We think a #factcheck is in order!
