since announcing CTO Creator Fees yesterday, we've already heard a ton about how this changes the game this was just the first step in a long line of plans to accelerate communities on pump fun my #1 priority moving forward is boosting the organic communities that make pf great

$gor 已经横了24天 @lex_node 这条推文已经说明了现在 @Gorbagana_chain 基本情况。

Full story of #Gorbagana $GOR What began as a legal-philosophical debate turned into one of the wildest, most meme-fueled forks ever attempted on Solana. (CA: 71Jvq4Epe2FCJ7JFSF7jLXdNk1Wy4Bhqd9iL6bEFELvg) 1. The man behind the meme: Gabriel Shapiro (@lex_node) A lawyer-turned-crypto theorist. Before becoming Chief Legal Officer at Delphi Labs, Gabriel started his career at a Wall Street firm helping companies like PayPal and Facebook with acquisitions. Later, he founded MetaLeX, a ''cybernetic economic DA'' that fuses on-chain code and off-chain legal structures to create lawful and adaptive decentralized organizations. 2. It all started with one question: Who controls the chain? On June 19, Gabriel raised concerns about the centralization of trademark control in crypto, using Ethereum’s history as an example. After the DAO fork in 2016, it was the Ethereum Foundation's control over the ''Ethereum'' and ''ETH'' trademarks that made the forked chain dominant, while the original was sidelined as Ethereum Classic. His point? ''Imo, if a company owns the trademark and doesn't have a credibly neutral rule about how it gets used, the project is not truly decentralized/autonomous.'' 3. Enter: Solana Gabriel turned the same lens toward Solana, warning that it too is vulnerable to Web2-style legal powers at critical moments. Toly (@toly), co-founder of Solana, replied: ''Why? It doesn't matter what people call solana in China, as long as they are using the same ledger as the people in the US.'' He added sarcastically: ''If there is not a gorbagana chain in 48 hours, I’ll be severely disappointed. Whichever one has the majority of business value on it.'' 4. And just like that — a meme was born. Gorbagana. A mix of Gorbachev and Garbage, inspired by Toly’s quip and Gabriel’s critique. The name evokes Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street — the cranky green monster who lives in a trash can. Soon, a meme coin called $GOR launched, and the narrative kicked into high gear. 5. What is Gorbagana? A parody Solana fork. A trash chain. A satire of decentralization debates — yet somehow more decentralized than most. 6. Then came the chaos. Just under 48 hours later, a dev named @MidTermDev actually launched the Gorbagana chain. Market cap shot past $40M. Toly even responded on Twitter. But suddenly, @MidTermDev went rogue (or got hacked) — launching an unauthorized second token. The original $GOR nearly collapsed. His account is now banned. 7. Rebuild mode: MILADY devs take over The community picked up the pieces. Core devs like @0rdlibrary and stepped in. A new dev team — doxxed internally — took over development, working toward Toly’s original 48-hour fork challenge. 8. The deeper point still stands. Gorbagana isn’t about pump or FOMO. It’s about mocking the increasing corporatization of crypto. A chain born for trash, for art, for narrative, not venture capital. It’s a joke. But it’s real. And maybe more honest than most "serious" L1s. 9. Milestones so far: 24h volume peaked at $120M+. Backpack Wallet dropped native Gorbagana testnet support (yes, really) Whales like gake, cookie, and Euris have ape’d in The dev sprint continues… 10. In the end... It began as a legal critique. A side joke between Gabriel and Toly. But what followed was part experiment, part meme war, part legal commentary. It’s trash. But it’s community trash. And that makes all the difference. Gorbagana is still live. Still weird. Still forking. Will it succeed? Who knows. But it definitely made us ask better questions.
