I was honored to speak tonight at the Worcester Fire Department promotion and award ceremony this evening. Four were recognized for bravery at a water rescue at Coes Pond and there were 14 promotions, 1 Deputy Chief, 2 District Chiefs, 3 Captains and 8 Lieutenants.

@pdmt99 "Nothing to worry about .. yet" were my exact words. Tomorrow night, there may be a motion to file (denied) or a motion to kick it to MO (which will pass). The action period is the next MO meeting and, assuming 2-1 there, when it comes back to council.

@henderson_mark The way the report was cherry picked to focus on how some communities block residents and taxpayers from filing petitions should be a loud warning. This is the exact opposite of civic engagement, transparency and participatory governance.

@henderson_mark Worcester residents and taxpayers are being given less and less of the information we need and to which we're entitled. The City Hall push to block people from petitioning their government is dangerous and calls from a loud rejection.
