SRH Missed the trick here. Avesh Khan hit the ball with the bat before the ball reached the boundary line. Which is a clear violation of the rule. According to the ICC rule book. Anyone not part of the fielding side (like substitutes, support staff, or teammates sitting outside) must NOT interfere with the ball. This falls under “Unfair Play" So umpires will apply: Law 20.1 (Dead Ball) Law 41 (Unfair Play) And award 5 penalty runs to the fielding side. Which means LSG would have needed 6 runs of 2 balls if SRH would have appealed.

@internetumpire Not really. Batting with the tail doesn’t mean scoring at 33 SR like a tailender. He had to bat around 50-60 SR

I hope the "Jadeja can't play with the tail" myth ends with this match today. This was one of the Greatest display of how to build partnerships with the tail in the highest of pressure.

As long as both the bails are at the top of the stumps collectively, it's not out. They need to be removed from the top of the stumps.

I've never seen better luck than this in cricket. He was on 98* btw 😭🙏

This is called crossing the expected release point. Digvesh didn't cross it last night. The third umpire was wrong. Had Pant not withdrawn the appeal, Jitesh should actually have been given OUT. Reallllllllyyyyy annoyed by dumb arguments.
