What Ratna Debnath wants to say simply is that crime against a doctor like her daughter living in the city deserves outrage, justice and punishment. The Baruipur minor victim was a poor, Muslim child and hence the crime is less important and “not the same”. From when did a crime as heinous as “rape” becomes different with socio economic status? This woman is the ultimate symbol of being delusional and if her daughter was alive today, would have surely disowned her out of shame!

What a tragedy for J&K that the CM, @OmarAbdullah, is taking the environment as a non-issue, not knowing that Kashmir’s environment is at a breaking point. We are living on a ticking bomb & every year we pay with loss of lives & mass destruction. What is more tragic is that when asked about Amarnath Yatra footfall, Omar Abdullah ran away from accountability by saying, "It is an issue of the Shrine Board." No, it isn't. It is an issue of Kashmir's survival. If you don't understand that or you aren't serious about it, just step aside for heaven's sake. Stop being the barrier between the people of J&K & their survival. Just 3 months ago, J&K was put in Seismic Zone VI, which is the highest risk category. Weeks later, a CAG audit report highlighted an alarming ecological crisis in J&K, finding that nearly 315 out of 697 lakes have vanished since 1967. Being serious about environmental issues isn't just about policy, but survival. When you call the environment a “non-issue,” the repercussions are beyond imagination. Kashmir was God-gifted. We were rich in forests, water, and life. Today, unplanned construction, illegal mining, and deforestation have torn our motherland apart. The brute capitalization of our natural resources and unchecked over-tourism have pushed Kashmir’s fragile ecosystem to the edge. The role of the EIA, the Environmental Impact Assessment agency, hardly exists anywhere because for this administration, profit is the only agenda. People, land, and the future is least priority. This Govt. needs to stop treating J&K like a property to be auctioned & start thinking about the people who actually live here. If it doesn’t, J&K won’t be far from becoming a hellhole for its own people.

Reason why teachers are deputed for other duties.
