Menurut Oda, tokoh utama karakter Luffy akan dibuat sekonyol mungkin kekuatannya. Tidak seru menurut Oda jika Luffy punya kekuatan yg keren. @Tonyohoho juga pernah berucap, ada satu power dalam manga yg powernya menembus kekuatan cerita itu sendiri namun konyol bukan main dan sangat kuat, Cartoon Power. Dari situlah kekuatan konyol Gear 5 muncul. Orang2 pada lupa, Nika itu adalah drum of liberation. Seorang pejuang kebebasan yg datang dengan tawa untuk semua orang yg menunggu kebebasan. Bahkan pulau terakhir dinamakan Laught Tale. Jadi mari para nakama tertawalah seperti Gol D. Roger dan para krunya saat menemukan One Piece di pulau terakhir, Laugh Tale. Akhir itu semakin dekat.
