@jconricus Seems very Trumpean, all the on/off fighting, crazy MOU proposals, back and forth deal games…makes one wonder. Perhaps it’s all a fun means to an end of the Iranian regime, the original goal wrapped in a cover of destroying nuclear weapons ability? 🤔

We are arriving at a moment of truth for the Iranian regime. It appears the regime has overplayed its hand and felt that they could elicit even more concessions from the US beyond the already appeasing MOU, and attacked 3 merchant ships. The US called the bluff and has responded with significant tactical attacks, that so far are confined to shore areas and do not include inland infrastructure. Now the regime will have to decide whether to escalate, if they can, by broadening the scope and range of their missiles to non-military targets and beyond the Gulf. If the regime escalates it will likely face limited strikes on energy infrastructure and perhaps strikes in Tehran. The likelihood of the regime striking Israel is low, since the Israelis are ready and eager to engage the regime in a much more meaningful way. Too early to declare definitively, but the ill-conceived MOU looks very shaky.
