I think they clarified banked resets are not going away, but because they are introducing ChatGPT Work for normies they are waiting for the mobile and web clients to have reset UI implemented. Supposedly coming next week. But there's Aldo been crazy demand on their servers and tibo said the global resets are more predictable while they put out fores on thier infrastructure.

@thsottiaux @argofowl Whatever happened to collectible resets? Have been reset from 99 percent remaining to 100 percent remaining 3 times today… :(

@flowersslop @NousResearch Its a tad misleading. I wouldn't call Hermes "installed". Its just like a signal or telegram bot thing - client to a remote hosted hermes

The thing I love most about Codex is that I can get up while I leave three different computers, each with maybe one or two, maybe three threads running. I can go off, do house cleaning/admin, and then come back knowing that most of them will be done. I review, I spin up new stuff, scrutinize over details, then I just get up and go do other stuff. I'm standing up more, I'm not glued to my damn desk, it's amazing.

At different times you complained about speed, code slop, frontend quality, ... With each release we improve and GPT 5.6 Sol is ✅Fast and token efficient ✅Hardcore at back-end dev ✅Great at front-end ✅Does not use useEffect everywhere What is next?

@msethi006 @thsottiaux @OpenAI @OpenAIDevs I got stuck on this too. Backup your ~\.codex\ folder. Remove asmuch as you can from it, keeping only automations, skills, achieved threads whatever you need. Them try again. Something in the migration fails

If you aren't yet bold enough to install the Codex app, you can stay in the presence of your orange crab and point it at GPT 5.6 Sol. Takes 5 minutes. Kudos to Theo for explaining one of the ways to get this done. Step 1: Install CLIProxyAPI Step 2: Connect Step 3: Define following alias and enjoy claudex ``` alias claudex='CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL=gpt-5.6-sol \ CLAUDE_CODE_ALWAYS_ENABLE_EFFORT=1 \ CLAUDE_CODE_MAX_TOOL_USE_CONCURRENCY=3 \ ENABLE_TOOL_SEARCH=false \ claude --model gpt-5.6-sol' ``` If this gets blocked, I owe you a reset.
Theo - t3.gg@theo

@thsottiaux tl;dr version: - set up CLIProxyAPI with Claude and Codex auth - Connect to Claude Code - Make "claudex" alias that sets some env vars Took like 2 prompts (I already had the proxy set up tbf)

I am doing a presentation this week to convince my team, and our product team that we should have a damn buisness account already. I'll be using the updated ChatGPT Desktop App. I actually think I have a shot at it this time, ill keep it in work mode. The rest of the dev team are locked in with github copilot and were slow to adapt - not necessarily slow to adopt. We all use Chat for looking stuff up or playing docter, I'll show em what's possible with ChatGPT Work. GOD DAMMIT I NEED THIS AT WORK- MY SIDE PROJECTS AT HOME ARE GOING TO OVERTAKE AT THIS RATE

If you were using Codex before, two things to do 1. Keep using Codex. It is for you 2. Tell your friends and family about ChatGPT Work who you always wanted to show Codex but they’re not as technical and don’t work with code every day and tell me how it goes

This was quite frustrating to get answered. Anyway @rabbit_hmi can I please pay or bring my own key not only for your DLAM thing but also the primary chat? It feels stupid when I talk to it so I had to find out. Either its an early Chinese lab that trained on Claude responses, or its a very early haiku model that I dont trust with a spoon let alone PII

@iruletheworldmo @DaveShapi @OpenAI Work mode IS great. But codex was dev first and now that they are doing the merge, the codex name takes a back seat. Windows users completely lost the icon. The UI is noe cluttered with feature I won't use, I'm a developer not a power user of chat gpt plugins.

Dear @OpenAI 5.6 Sol with Work mode is really amazing. What would be really cool is if it was also giving a more comprehensive like "operations dashboard" as it was working. Like a whole sidecar visualization I can bring up. Like, clicking on the subagents is cool and all but you could easily spin up some dynamic UI or something tracking the work items and showing what they are succeeding at and failing at. Like even a sidescroll burndown or Gantt chart type thing would be really cool. And this request is not purely aesthetic, it would be really helpful to watch what it's doing as it's going so I can be caught up by the time it's done. I'm thinking little green checkmarks for things that worked, red X's for the things that didn't work and required retries, yellow flags for insights and direction changes, that sort of thing. I took the liberty of asking ChatGPT to mock up what I'm talking about and it pretty much nailed it. I don't really care to read exact thought traces anymore, but if you could make the successes, failures, insights, etc, explorable so I can learn as it's going. that would be really cool. Particularly if, on a code related thing, if it could highlight the code snippet and insight or something when I drill all the way down. Or if it's more research related. Because as people say, learning what didn't work (and why) is often just as valuable if not more valuable than just knowing what worked.

Introducing... another usage limit reset for all our ChatGPT Work and Codex users. Should land over next 30 minutes. Hope you have an awesome weekend. Thank you for pushing our systems to the absolute limit, we have never seen traffic increase so quickly. Keep the feedback coming and we'll keep shipping.
Tibo@thsottiaux

Hello beautiful people! We have reset usage limits across Codex and ChatGPT Work. And another one will come later in the day. Rejoice. Now that I have your attention, a quick update on ChatGPT Work, Codex and all the updates we shared yesterday. We’ve spent the last 24 hours reading feedback, looking at usage patterns, and talking with many of you. The short version is that there is a *lot* of excitement for GPT 5.6 Sol, ChatGPT Work on mobile & web, but also that we didn't get everything quite right. - We made it too easy to use the highest-compute settings without making the impact on usage limits sufficiently clear. - We reorganized the desktop app in one bold move, making familiar things like chats and projects harder to find. - Our launch framing was focused on ChatGPT Work and to some of our Codex fans it made it feel like Codex was going away over time. Absolutely not our intention, we love Codex and it is here to stay. - And we introduced regressions for some existing multi-agent workflows, alongside a collection of rough edges in plugins and other parts of the experience. We’re landing a first set of improvements today. We’re resetting usage twice so people can keep experimenting, changing defaults and the model picker so they don’t push people toward unnecessarily expensive settings, fixing several plugin submission issues, improving how we represent Codex in the product, and cleaning up some of the most immediate desktop problems. A larger set of improvements will land next week. We’re bringing chats and projects back into the sidebar in a more familiar and customizable way, making usage and reset timing much more visible, clarifying when to use ChatGPT Work and when to use Codex, and addressing the many other smaller pieces of great feedback we've had. The ambition behind this launch hasn’t changed. We think bringing ChatGPT and Codex together into a workspace where people and agents can collaborate is a very important step forward. But an ambitious direction doesn’t excuse avoidable confusion or regressions in the first version. Please keep the feedback coming. We’re moving quickly, and you should see the experience already get better with a few updates today; and substantially better again next week.
