Claudia Goldin won the Nobel Prize in economics - as a treat, she took on volunteer role helping the WNBA players negotiate for the biggest pay increase a union has ever received - a nearly 400% raise. This is badass. wsj.com/economy/wnba-p…

Former TC Energy pipeline exec Dennis McConaghy on a possible KeystoneXL revival "Well, my first concern about this Canadian government is how they deal with two outstanding issues in the MoU." "Open ended carbon taxes on industrial emissions and dates for decarbonizing any incremental oil production out of Canada." "Those are basic showstoppers." "So people can talk a lot about pipelines and pipeline alternatives, but if you don't have any incremental production to fill the pipeline, it's the moot point." "So there's a lot of very dramatic bargaining ahead."

Great to meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney to sign an agreement to speed up approvals for major projects in Nova Scotia. Our one project, one review model will cut duplication, shorten timelines, and give more certainty to builders and investors. This will help get Nova Scotia's Wind West project moving, faster. With some of the strongest and most consistent offshore winds in the world, Wind West has the potential to power about a quarter of Canada's electricity needs. All this means we can move faster on key infrastructure and energy projects, grow our economy, and position Nova Scotia as an energy leader. Learn more: news.novascotia.ca/en/2026/03/27/…

PM Carney on Canada's contribution to Arctic security: "We already have the second largest icebreaker fleet in the world after Russia. Once our icebreaker program is completed, we will have the largest. We will have 42 icebreakers. The Americans have one."

@moneytalkstweet Who was at the wheel when Canada went from a net exporter of electricity to a 30% importer and was this a ploy to force the adoption of wind/solar? Westinghouse/Brookfield nuclear?

German Energy Minister admits the crushing mistake of listening to climate fanatics in closing nuclear - which forced the country to import record amounts of coal along with sending energy costs way up. What do you think Elizabeth May, Mark Carney, David Suzuki and climate crusaders?

Germany Energy Minister Katherina Reiche: The phase-out of nuclear power was a huge mistake — a huge mistake. We now miss that energy. So, the only way to secure supply is gas.

1/9 (A Thread) I very rarely do this but DND/PSPC/DIA left me no choice. What you’re about to read is an important accountability lesson for Canada’s government - in a space where tens of billions of dollars are being spent - or about to be spent.

One reason I have been so conservative (not politically but rather strength of opinions on events in Iran) is that discerning what is happening is very difficult and I think this speaks to a number of epistemological (followers know that is one of my favorite themes) issues. Let me list out of some of them. 1. The DoW is taking a very different approach to information. Remember in Iraq ad Gulf War I reporters were literally embedded with the troops invading Iraq? The DoW is taking a very different approach with the media and due to the nature of the conflict, not only are journos kept much more at arms length but they simply cannot travel in the fighter jets. 2. The nature of the information flows has changed. It is hard to reliably determine what is happening, I mean at least half the videos floating around supposedly from events in Iran or Hormuz are very dated or in some cases not even from Iran or Hormuz. It is hard to get information out of Iran and even when it does happen, it is hard to determine the significance or impact. 3. Most people speaking publicly provide no informational value because they simply don't know but are just plugging and playing their opinion on attacking Iran or Trump. To take a simple example, some arguments are being made about how Trump is losing and entered a quagmire (which let's posit may be true) but they cite as evidence zero actual operational or events but rather the terrain of invading Iran or how Trump is an idiot. Now attacking Iran even with vast operational superiority is challenging and let's even posit Trump may be dead wrong or wagging the dog. That does not provide any actual operational evidence of what is happening and why it may become a quagmire it is just restating your opinion that attacking Iran was a bad idea and you don't like Trump. As I will so often advise you: think through the information you are receiving and how to value that information. I do not know but I can smell Bull$#!+ with the best of them and know when I do not have enough information to make informed decisions or opinions
