The proposed changes to the law ('embryowet') redefine what an embryo legally is. It can then include male-male, female-female, self-sex, and even human-animal embryo's, therefore legalizing their existence. Scientists can take male skin cells and convert hem into an egg, or female skin cells and convert them into a sperm cell. Or you can invert the genders: a woman's sperm fertilizing a man's egg.

The Electricity bill is the cheap part. A Swiss research group tested 13 professional induction cooktops & found that most EXCEEDED even the already-high 1998 ICNIRP maximum exposure limits when a person stood close to the stove. For the worst-case compliant device: current density in tissue exceeded ICNIRP limits by up to 24 dB.. A FACTOR OF 16. The brain tissue of young children: overexposed by a factor of 2 The CNS of a fetus: can exceed general public limits entirely if the mother cooks at normal working distance. And this happened on devices that had PASSED the official safety test. Why? Because the IEC 62233 compliance standard, the test that certifies your stove as "SAFE", measures the AC magnetic field at 300mm (1 foot) from the cabinet edge. You don't cook from 1 foot away. Your abdomen is at 0mm. Your hands are at 50mm. Your child's head is at cooktop height. At 300mm: COMPLIANT At 0mm: 16x OVER THE LIMIT The test is designed to PASS not to protect. And that's before you consider that the ICNIRP limits themselves are already deeply inadequate. ICNIRP limits are set to prevent ACUTE effects.. enough induced current to directly stimulate a nerve. They don't account for chronic, non-thermal biological effects. Reba Goodman & Martin Blank showed magnetic field biological effects occur at 14 ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE below the thermal threshold ICNIRP uses as its baseline. The WHO IARC classified ELF AC magnetic fields.. the exact type induction stoves emit at 20 kHz, as a Group 2B possible carcinogen in 2002. ICNIRP's response in 2010 was to RELAX the reference levels. So when the study says your stove exceeds limits by a factor of 16.. That's 16x over a number that's already orders of magnitude too permissive for chronic daily exposure. You're not cooking on a stove. You're standing in front of an industrial ELF AC magnetic field generator. EVERY SINGLE DAY. But sure. The electricity bill is the part to worry about.

Spend like an hour to debug the CF card but it turns out it is just caused by a bad USB cable that can't support high current needed by the microdrive.

@sirius_kpc Interesting pattern there, what is that about? Careful with the crammed silk screen on the top left and all around the PCB perimeter. Also round off the right angle corners, those are not manufacturable and can cause issues in the modeling of the enclosure.

@magicarchtec Silkscreen is needed when people need to work on the PCB. In this case, it's very likely that the manufacturer doesn't have repair procedures in place, as they just prefer to substitute the board if it fails.

@stenicolis @tenkichi122 My company designs industrial IoT devices. I am one of three RF engineers. We don't use thermal reliefs on grounds for passives at UHF or above. Now, this is just an HF crystal oscillator (12 MHz?), so sure, thermal reliefs on the grounds of the passives are just fine.

@Megatron_ron Europe should focus on creating as much as energy as possible. Only then we should worry about making already existing infrastructure more energy efficient. If your salary is low, seek a higher salary, not to save more money. This woman doesn't get it and she is in charge.

Sometimes I lose faith in humanity. When I discussed a case of a 17yo girl who was euthanized in the Netherlands (for depression), I noted that the euthanasia doctor was also a public proponent of organ donation at euthanasia, and I questioned this practice by explaining how it works (sedation, declared brain-dead, harvest, physical death). In response to this, a family member of the dead girl directed his army of online trolls at me with death threats, threats of violence, and threats of stalking. I was baffled and surprised at the hate that common people can put on display IN DEFENSE OF KILLING YOUNG PEOPLE, whereas those same people will never do anything to make a stand for an innocent living victim. However, two months after the girl was killed, 14 Dutch psychiatrist sent a letter of complaint to the Public Prosecutor in April 2024. They wrote that the girl “was not decision-competent” and she should not have been euthanized. I agreed with this, and it got me more online hate. Last February, 19 psychiatrists wrote an essay in a Dutch psychiatry magazine saying that euthanasia for people under age 25 should be effectively banned (though not forbidden) and that euthanasia requests for such young people should be considered calls to action, not cause for killing. This restored my trust in humanity a bit. But I’m afraid I have to write off a good portion of humanity and simply regard them “rabid village people” who’ll never better themselves, because they don’t know what morality is.

@u0zeed Good job. Add ESD protection to the USB port, it's not optional. Add mounting holes and silkscreen to highlight the fuse amperage and dont put silkscreen under components. Dont forget to include all 3D models for the components, its mandatory when showing off your work to people.
