Today, we have all seen the horrific killing of Alex Pretti, a VA nurse, by a group of heavily armed and masked men, resembling a paramilitary force. I served in the army for 21 years. Watching that video, I saw untrained, reckless agents acting aggressively and with a posture for escalation towards a civilian community exercising their First Amendment right to free speech and protest. ICE killings are becoming regular occurrence because Trump declared that ICE can use force with total impunity. Our leaders cannot permit Trump to have a police force loyal only to him. These killings must stop. ICE must be reined-in and held accountable for this senseless violence.

If there was ever a moment for libertarians and conservatives to step up and join the rest of us, we’re in it. Americans have to unite and stop this descent from a freedom-loving nation into the kind of place where masked, militarized government agents are sent to politically noncompliant areas to roam the streets, terrorize civilians, and deploy violence with impunity.

We have a responsibility to protect Americans from tyranny. DHS just shot a man in broad daylight two weeks after they shot a mother in the face without consequence. They need our votes to continue. We cannot give it to them. Every Senator should vote NO.

I will not vote to fund the illegal DHS and ICE operations that terrorize Chicago, Minneapolis, and many other communities. The deaths of innocent Americans and the detaining of thousands of innocent people are a national disgrace. Secretary Noem refuses to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to account for her stewardship over this reign of terror. I will not reward her arrogance and lawlessness with my vote.

This isn’t leadership. This is blackmail. The Department of Justice has now told Minnesota officials that they will remove ICE if they hand over their voter rolls - this is not how the law works.
