Mary Lou McDonald and I have spoken today with SNP leader John Swinney and Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth. The momentum for constitutional change across these islands is now greater than ever. People in Ireland, Scotland and Wales are looking towards a future beyond the Union, where we have full control over our own affairs. We discussed the enormous significance of this week’s election results, and the historic potential of having three nationalist, pro-independence First Ministers. We agreed to continue working together to strengthen the friendship between our nations, and to stand up for the democratic right of our people to self-determination.

For those saying the Independence issue was settled in 2014. The reality is, the real conversation only started in 2014. Since then everyone can see how much we are held back in the union, the majority now want independence, its not even close

Pleasure to speak this afternoon with the leadership of Plaid Cymru & Sinn Fein - @RhunapIorwerth, @MoNeillSF and @MaryLouMcdonald. The direction of travel and demand for independence is clear, and Westminster should grasp the significance of this moment.

Independence MSP's 1999 - 36 2003 - 34 2007 - 49 2011 - 71 2016 - 69 2021 - 72 2026 - 73 SNP has won 5 Holyrood elections in a row, Labour had their worst ever election & Tories fell to 4th. Independence MSP's have been the majority since 2011. If that's not a mandate what is?

The most striking thing for me about Thursday’s election is the growth in support for the SNP under John Swinney. SNP support in 2024 = 30% SNP support in 2026 = 38.2% That’s an over 27% growth in overall support since 2024. Say what you will, but that is remarkable.

Now the polling stations have closed I want to thank everyone who has supported us today and over the last few weeks. The Alliance To Liberate Scotland Party was only registered in February and selected its candidates in mid-March so we were up against huge barriers to gain recognition and votes. However we have planted the seeds of a new party that is dedicated completely to Scotland's freedom from the chains of Westminster misrule and continued theft of our vast resources and wealth. Regardless of the results tomorrow we are not going away. Take care everyone. Hold your loved ones close. Securing our independence is a marathon not a sprint but we are determined to win it despite the odds 🤝🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
