It's been about 2 months since I last spotted an Otter locally.
Good 2 see this beast on Water of leith.

and tips of feathers being frosty tipped.Where what stood out whem first seen.

A ray of light and colour on a dull ,cold, frosty day.
Kingfisher on Figgatepark burn.
Got the impression an Otter was present due to actions of the local birds at pond but didn't show itself.

Edinburgh. Salad burnet the least expected.

Flocks of Redwing first of winter after only seeing single birds this autumn. 40 west over Hedderwick plantation whilst watching Red backed shrike. 60 at Skateraw waterfall.
Greenshank on Hedderwick burn with 2 Little Egret.
Still 3 Snow bunting at Torness .

Tail long fluffy rather than streamlined like otter,so I'm going for squirrel.

Still 2, possibly 3 yellow browed warblers at Barnsness.
2 birds constantly chasing each other about but flavouring a small group of Willows.

Late pristine Comma feeding on late bramble flowers,before hibernation.
Some of the 15 little grebe on Duddingston great to see after this years washout of early nests.
Kingfisher,Sparrowhawk hunting.

Barred warbler skulking and flighty at Barnsness,A few decent views through binoculars, camera photo rubbish wrong setting after last night aurora.Yellow browed warbler showing well campsite wood.

21:45 and 21:56 …had to run to the park across the street for a better view. #Aurora #northernlights #London #Ealing

50 Barnacle geese whitesands quarry with 250-350 Pinkfeet.
10.45 flew east 11.40, another flock 80 flew east past Torness 14.00. Nice view off reed bunting before 2 Sparrowhawk put everything up nr dry burn.
Can you spot the peregrine with barnsness behind.

First Whooper of Winter, this bird flew past Musselburgh flying east.Some Grey partridge playing hide and seek. Sandwich tern Blue white letters EKA Joppa rocks, Greenfinch like the hips of Rosa rugosa. Slav and Great creasted grebe with R. t. diver,& Wheatear 😀

Little Egret catches fish, goes down, coughs it back up then recatches it .
Grey seal with flat fish a few off lagoons today.Distant Black guillemot with Scoter flock.
A few Dragonflies including Common darter.

Barnsness Yellow browed warbler still present with numerous Chiffchaff in wire dump old caravan park woods.
Still a pied flycatcher present,
Still a few Whinchat in the area.
