@paupermouse Amazing… we are pervert sisters in arms…

The thing is, I’ve never watched porn either. But if you have grit, determination, good work ethic, and a pure heart, you can invent kink and bdsm from first principles. 🩷

I'm not a porn addict so for the longest time I thought aftercare means kissing and cuddling after sex.

@therlkings If I’m introducing someone (who isn’t a child) to a genre, why do I want to start with the most palatable/mainstream/safe options instead of, like, the best?
English

I don’t understand this tweet, unless we’re assuming all beginner yuri readers to be 16 and all seasoned yuri fans to be adults
lexie@true0bIue
the idea of beginner yuri list makes perfect sense cause i personally am not gonna recommend yuri like love bullet to a seasoned yuri fan and also… are we really gonna go up to some random person and rec yuri like this to be their first yuri
English

@ASTR0M0T Oh yeah yeah I’m not upset just musing and clarifying my thoughts. Eg while Gunjou stands out I def think some other picks are here bc they are “edgy” and therefore labeled “not beginner friendly,” and it made me question who is the ideal beginner in this scenario.
English

@taliasupreme I would also say it’d be good in a tailored list but like… there’s not very much else like it out there really
English

@ASTR0M0T Idk it was one of my first yuri! And I found it thru purposefully seeking out dark/psychological thriller tags. I wouldn’t suggest it for a 12yo necessarily but otherwise I read a lot of out there stuff even as a teen.
English

@ASTR0M0T Ooh I do see what ur saying in that it’s not representative of the genre. That is true. And I’m not denying it’s difficult! I’m just saying not all yuri newcomers are necessarily newcomers to difficult stories and therefore unprepared for Gunjou.
English

@taliasupreme it’s not really that they’re extreme, rather that gunjou is a difficult read and one that might skew people’s perception of the entire genre in an unrealistic way considering that it’s kind of a unicorn
English

@babypinkbride Lmao I’m imagining telling some otaku who watches tons of isekai/comedy/shounen and is now getting into yuri that that seems too “intense/traumatizing” for them.
English

@bernkastelers Exactly. Just bc it’s someone’s first yuri doesn’t mean it’s their first story (or even the first lesbian story) they’ve ever been exposed to. Fluffy “tame” yuri will turn some ppl off if they don’t like sweet romances!
English

@babypinkbride Ok idk that one so idk if this is sarcasm but it looks like a fluffy harem series?
English

@ASTR0M0T I really don’t feel like my tastes are that extreme tho… idk… I know to my mother they are but

@Deripmaver Agreed. And I feel like that brings up a lot of shame for me too, the fact that it shouldn’t hurt, especially since I had a NP that was accommodating! I still wouldn’t want to fear monger ofc but u never know ppls specific situations.
English

@taliasupreme So I've kinda seen both sides of it and what's most important to me is def that if your doctor refuses to accommodate you, tell them to gtfo
English

"We shouldn't have to do pap smears because of discomfort and fear" is a bad take but zoomers refusing to accept the pain associated with gyno procedures is good, actually. Are the women who demanded sedation & pain relief for IUD insertion also "tender little zoomers"?
miss superpussy@seltzerprincess
biting my own hands forcing myself not to rip into these tender little zoomers who are refusing to get pap smears bc speculums are violence or whatever
