@SuchPettanko Buddyfight is a beautiful mess of a game, Yugioh with costs but barely any limits. Honestly the only thing that really killed it for me was when Lost world became a thing and everyone needed a 200 buck extra deck all of a sudden.

@MBTYuGiOh Having a means of cost in a game Is fine, but if a card is representing that cost (lands, pkmn energy, even main deck cards being repurposed as mana) i feel theres always an issue. Personally a big advocate for Digimon's Memory gauge system

one of the downsides of mtg being the first (and also the best) big card game is that every subsequent card game falls for Garfield’s Trick: thinking that “mana” must be included in the game at all
