@BrentAWilliams2 I do agree that carbs are not the problem… it is ultra processed foods but they normally also get lumped in with whole food carbs. That is the problem

The conflation of vegetable carbohydrates and ultra processed carbohydrates is where this argument doesn’t hold up. Ultra processed foods which make up the majority of the American diet and are usually carbohydrates. To pretend these food like products do not lead to massive increased chances of most chronic illness requires ignoring the data and evidence.

@AlanRoberts Not to mention the Italian diet has lower serving sizes than the American diet. Its also bolstered by a heavy seafood and vegetable component which the American pasta diet does not include. Italians dont require a VAT of sugar sauce or cream sauce with their pasta.

It is but it does contribute to his advocating for sensationalist advertising by telling people to go do OF, and through selective editing he's not saying "Well, you dont want to work a 9-5, there's OF, but there's a whole mess of work that's required as a part of owning your own business"

Its just strange to me he condemns people for buying adult content and door dash saying how stupid it is in "general" not just people who struggle with cash, but in general. Then suggests people work those jobs. I really dont "dislike" Caleb. I just find him sensationalist under the guise of "helping" people. I think he probably helps more people that arent on the show than he helps the people he shames on his show. Like, yes its stupid to get a luxury car at a loan of 25%. Yes its stupid to order door dash when you can eat much better at home for much less. Pay attention to those taquitos in your life that are chipping away at your disposable income. Dont look at credit cards as disposable income. Dont look at pay in 4 as a way to buy those taquitos. I liked when he actually made plans for and with people for how they would get over their mountain of debt, but more and more he's turned to sensationalism and just yelling at people with no plan in sight and teasing even more sensationalism behind his paywall but still with no plan in sight. The people who go on his show know what they're getting into. They know if they're not the smartest there will be a thumbnail saying "WORST BIMBO EVER". If they're overweight the thumbnail will say "FATTY GORGING THEMSELVES INTO DEBT" And if they're muslim, the thumbnail will be like this one.

@thyri @NewsM101 The difference is that buying commodities is fine if you have the money for it, these people don't. So no it isn't a crime to order food with delivery or to be stupidly horny, it's just a non obligatory cost

@eyewatcher9_i @NewsM101 I just find it odd that he condemns men for purchasing OF content while at the same time encouraging others to be OF content creators. Honestly just as much as I find it odd that he condemns people for purchasing door dash while encouraging people to doordash for cash.

Owning your own business is 100 times more needing of schedules, managing taxes, managing advertising, managing marketing, managing content distribution, managing chats etc etc. OF is NOT this easy get rich quick solution to all problems

@thyri @NewsM101 You can label it as creepy but it's sadly due to it being the norm, you would be surprised how common it is. Also do note who he says it to, these people already are incredible irresponsible, so working in shifts or schedules isn't really a thing they would be capable of

Sure its "a choice" so is stripping, so's escort work, so's dealing drugs, there are plenty of "a choices" There are also "a choices" like working construction, remote customer service, fast food, etc etc etc. I believe Caleb suggests OF because its sensational and can get an inflammatory response from either his viewers or from the guest which translates into views for him, I dont believe he views it as any more viable of a career choice than "I want to be a streamer". Because he doesnt go into how someone can be successful at OF, only he sees a pretty girl and goes "go do OF". IMO its a little creepy.

It would be a VERY niche market for someone who is unable to stand to do fast food, or sit to do secretarial temp work to be able to handle the competitive environment of OF. That's another thing about OF. For like 99% of the people who enter it, they're never successful. They never make a living wage that could be earned through other means. OF takes a LOT of hustle. Its not just snap a few lewds and watch the money roll in. Its more long hours than many even fathom just to possibly break into the industry and maybe be able to make ends meet much less be able to clear debt on top of making ends meet. Not to mention what working OF can do to one's resume, ones future or current children, one's current or future relationships. Additionally working OF even IF successful is no guarantee that they will break out of debt. Usually people with a bad relationship with money arent "poor" or "jobless" they have poor spending habits. They buy expensive cars at ridiculous interest rates. They doordash every meal. They go get those "taquitos". Starbucks every day. That doesnt get magically fixed with an additional income source that holds many many risks and stigmas be those right or wrong.

@thyri @NewsM101 Yeah but they have no standing legs, also fast food and delivery can be brutal on you, plus they requiere stuff you might not have, like a vehicle or a license for manipulating food

@eyewatcher9_i @NewsM101 He also encourages working for door dash or for fast food. But to certain individuals he encourages OF. I dont have a problem for those who choose sex work to get out of debt, but telling the desperate that OF is their ticket to freedom opens a whole different can of worms

@poems_past I literally MOVED to be closer to my parents in their older years. They took care of me for 18 years, the least I can do is take care of them now

I live in a completely different country than my parents. I still manage to see them at least once a year. They won’t be around forever. If you have a good relationship with your folks, make time. Work will always be here. Money can be made at any time. It’s not just about you.
