Glyphosate is classified as an endocrine disruptor!!☣️⚠️☠️🚫 An endocrine disruptor is a chemical that interferes with the hormonal (endocrine) systems of humans and wildlife. These substances can mimic, block, or alter natural hormones, potentially leading to developmental defects, reproductive issues, immune system dysfunction, and an increased risk of hormone-dependent cancers.☠️⚠️ What Does the Classification Mean? If glyphosate is classified as an endocrine disruptor, it means the chemical is suspected of interfering with hormonal balances, such as estrogen, androgen, and thyroid signaling pathways, even at very low exposure levels. ☠️⚠️☝️ Hormones control almost all bodily functions, meaning the disruption of the endocrine system can impact growth, metabolism, fertility, and mood. The Regulatory Controversy: The classification of glyphosate as an endocrine disruptor is a subject of intense scientific and regulatory debate. Academic and Independent Studies: Many independent and in-vitro (cell-based) studies have found that glyphosate and specifically the formulated commercial herbicides containing it can disrupt hormonal pathways, affect testosterone levels, and impair reproductive functions. Regulatory Authorities: Despite these findings, major regulatory bodies, including the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), have reviewed the comprehensive toxicological data. Based on a "weight of evidence" approach, these regulators concluded that technical-grade glyphosate itself does not meet the scientific criteria to be classified as an endocrine disruptor in humans or wildlife. Because of these conflicting conclusions, the debate continues, with critics arguing that regulators rely heavily on older, industry-supported tests that are not designed to detect complex or low-dose hormonal effects.⚠️☝️#SCOTUS #Glyphosate
