Experts say Texas rules allow oil companies to defer plugging wells for far too long. Jackie Chesnutt, who lives outside of San Angelo, is tired of the pollution from wells she says should have been plugged years ago. insideclimatenews.org/news/19042026/…

The wells on Jackie Chesnutt's ranch barely produce any oil. She's tired of spills on her property. She just wants the wells plugged. But the company says no can do. Texas has tens of thousands of wells like this with no end in sight. @insideclimate insideclimatenews.org/news/19042026/…

We have deployed a new secondary market for aEthWETH. Following today’s incident involving Aave’s rsETH market where approximately $200M was extracted, we moved to support secondary liquidity for affected positions. aEthWETH depositors can now access secondary market liquidity, enabling price discovery and a path to exit for affected users.

If you think this picture goes hard, it’s because fur trappers explored and established the American West, everything from the passes over our mountains to locations of our cities. NGOs like the Center for Biological Diversity are successfully dismantling everything this image stands for, campaigning across the west to end all trapping. That’s 200 years of Western history and culture. Their most recent victory is in Colorado against the wishes of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife biologists and flying in the face of thousands of public comments. Trapping is based on science and its tightly regulated to be humane. It’s a critically important wildfire management tool that prevents overpopulation, which leads to wildlife starvation, disease (eg rabies outbreaks), and habitat degradation (eg beaver floods). Remember wildlife managers look at populations not individuals. Wildlife harvested by trappers are what we call a “surplus,” meaning they’d have died naturally in the winter anyways. Ground nesting birds, fawns, juvenile elk and moose all benefit from trapping seasons. Take 5 minutes and see what extremist animal rights NGOs are promoting anti trapping campaigns in your state, and go further if you want to see where they get their money from. It’s all high net worth individuals from coastal cities, tech billionaires from SF, and opaque private foundations that you need to dig through tax records to find. Even if you’re not someone who cares about hunting and trapping, it’s worth nothing how high net worth city people use well monied NGOs to make policies on every facet of American life regardless of what locals want.

@gothburz I’ve been in crypto since 2018. I really used to think it was going to revolutionize finance. I truly believe Trump has completely ruined the entire ecosystem. It’s just a manipulated circus at this point. It very sad honestly.

Texas will lose $3.2 billion in tax breaks to data centers. Big Tech takes the gold, we get the bill. Instead of giving handouts to megacorps who take our land & water, we should invest in restoring local family farms.
