Perhaps the following will explain some of what things you clearly do not understand. In Romans 11, the apostle Paul compares Abrahamโs seed to the branches of an olive tree. (Rom. 11:21) This tree represents the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant. The root of the tree is holy and represents God, who gives life to the tree's branches, the Israel of God. (Rom. 11:16) The trunk represents Jesus, the primary part of Abrahamโs offspring/seed, and the branches that includes the remnant represent โthe fullnessโ of those included in the secondary part of this seed. (Isa. 10:20; Rom. 11:12)โฃโฃ โฃโฃ The natural Jews that rejected Jesus are the branches that were โbroken off" the olive tree (Rom. 11:17), which means that they lost the opportunity to become part of Abrahamโs seed. But who would replace those branches? John the Baptist said something very interesting: "Do not begin to say to yourselves, โWe have Abraham as our father.โ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham." (Luke 3:8)โฃโฃ โฃโฃ Branches from a wild olive tree were grafted onto the olive tree to replace the branches that have been broken off. (Rom. 11:17-18) IOW Gentile Christians would be grafted into the olive tree and so they join the Christian Jewish remnant as the secondary part of Abrahamโs seed. God broke off the natural branches, which opened the way to these wild olive branches to become spiritual Jews, and their praise comes from God. (Rom. 2:28-29)โฃโฃ โฃโฃ The "Israel of God" (Gal.6:16) are the Christians that became the 'children of the promise that are counted by God as Abraham's seed.' The Israel of God is "a royal priesthood, a holy nation," and they are now "God's people" that "have received mercy." (1 Pet. 2:9-10)โฃโฃ โฃโฃ The natural Jews still have the opportunity to become part of the Abraham's seed, for if they "do not continue in their unbelief, โฆ the natural branches [will] be grafted back into their own olive tree" by God. (Rom. 11:23-24)โฃ God has rendered judgment and he has chosen those who he will count as Abraham's seed, "the Israel of God," and how inscrutable are his ways! Indeed, "๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ข๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐จ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐." (Rom. 11:29, 33; Gal. 6:16)โฃ โฃโฃ As Rom. 5:10 says, โFor if while we were enemies [of the gospel] we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.โ Rom. 11:28 says, โAs regards the gospel, [the natural Jews] are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, [the Jewish remnant] are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.โ (Rom. 11:28)โฃโฃโฃโฃ Again, I said nothing about the replacement of ๐๐ง๐ฒ religious system. The old Law Covenant is no longer in effect. When the nation of Israel broke the Law of Moses in 607 BC, God foretold through the prophet Jeremiah that that old covenant would be superseded by the ๐ง๐๐ฐ covenant. โฃ [contโd]
