Liverpool Lawn in Ramsgate, Kent, was planned as a gently curving crescent to exploit sea views from its site, which is set back from the seafront. 🌊
This speculative development was constructed between 1827 and 1836 by the Ramsgate builder James Crisford.

The marriage contract of Margaret of Scotland and King Erik II of Norway, 25 July 1281. The couple’s daughter Margaret - “the Maid of Norway” - later died on her way to Scotland to take the throne of the Kingdom, creating a succession crisis that erupted into decades of war.

#OnThisDay - 2 July 1849, the first passenger train passed over the Chappel Viaduct. One of the largest brick-built structures in the country, it is 1066ft long, has 32 arches of 30ft span and over 6 million bricks were used in its construction.
