Since when had Elon started talking in favour of China, strange, pretty strange
A few days back he claimed that his company will be the one to achieve AGI first and now he's claiming it's Google
Anyways, if it's true that most of the Chinese models are nothing but distillation of American models then I don't think they will be ahead in this race, it has to be American models then
@rohanpaul_ai numbers are massive but the real story is the hardware-to-revenue gap.
compute spend doubling revenue projections by 2030 suggests we’re still in the infrastructure phase. the real winners will be the ones who turn that $665 billion in silicon into actual high-margin products
@rohanpaul_ai its because of the open source models.
in the US, every AI company is hoping to charge people $1000/mo next year to start losing less money. While Chinese companies are creating great open source AI models.
How can they not see it?
@rohanpaul_ai So that’s the global strategy. He wants to overwhelm China long-term with resources and compute in space. Trying to get around China’s tendencies to take intellectual property? I hope Elon is prepping the space fighters….
@rohanpaul_ai Would an American identify with NVIDIA? I wonder: Is a tech firm really the property of a country, or is it just a coincidence? I'm not so sure on the hole nation narrativ. How american is the Iphone really, if it's build in China?
@rohanpaul_ai That's quite a bold statement to make, although I have no doubt that the US is also competitive. Realistically, it looks more like CN is winning in every development indices whether it's in AI, earth, and space. TBF, I think it's pretty much just a 2-horse race between CN and US.
