Begin with a more modest approach. Dory’s Docker Core now reuses its signed engine kernel and root filesystem for the macOS 14 fallback option. This eliminates roughly 112 MB of duplicated compatibility data from the installed Core application while preserving the full engine.

Build only what is necessary. Kubernetes, Linux machines, the desktop runtime, Debian, Ubuntu and Kali are signed optional components. You may install, verify, update or remove them separately, and review precise component sizes prior to installation.
