@sesamestreet The question hateful people keep asking: Why is a children’s show celebrating Pride!? Because LGBTQ+ people include children too. And they also include families with children. Is that really so hard to understand!?

@t_alaziz @sesamestreet No!!!! The average demographic for Sesame Street is 2-8 yrs old. I am Gay and had no idea what Gay was at that age. No child at that age is “Gay” there are not in any relationship Gay or Straight, this is insane!

Your response appears to be concerned about children’s well-being, but it is filled with logical fallacies that undermine its objectivity. You are relying on an Anecdotal Fallacy, because a single personal experience does not establish a universal rule, especially in something as complex as sexual identity development and family awareness, which varies from child to child. You also fall into Oversimplification and False Assertion. Your claim is scientifically inaccurate and overly absolute. Some children, even in early childhood, begin recognizing that they are different or experience same-sex attraction, and this is supported by research in child psychology. You also ignore the fact that there are children between the ages of 2 and 8 growing up in LGBTQ+ families. Celebrating Pride does not automatically mean teaching children about sex. It can simply mean acknowledging that LGBTQ+ families exist, such as a child having two dads or two moms, without involving any sexual content. The core issue is that children living in LGBTQ+ families exist and deserve to feel recognized, included, and like they belong.
