@angedipus the reason why homosexuals are hated is because they are associated with women and feminity. women are not hated for being associated with gay people we’re hated for our femaleness

@bxkigx2 You didnt read the rest of the thread, thats not really why homosexuals are hated. Often homosexuals have been or are associated with a sort of hypermasculinity even, i think especially when it comes to things like leather culture

@angedipus it quite literally is true and it’s something that’s been researched beyond just thinking homophobia is about not adhering to masculinity. also masculinity is defined by what it’s not (woman-like) and that aversion/hatred for woman-like things is the foundation for homophobia

@bxkigx2 Its just not how it ends up looking like in reality. Instead of gay men always being feminized they are also consistently demonized and associated with a masculine predatory nature. Their desire for men is not viewed 1:1 with womens desire

@bxkigx2 Well you arent really engaging with any alternative analysis which accounts for the variations in how homophobia is expressed. If their homosexuality isnt necessarily seen as feminine but can be generalised anyway, that makes it an unfalsifiable argument

@bxkigx2 Because there is a common thread even when you look at homophobia against hunks who fuck hunks, that during large swathes of history has been a substantial portion of the gay community and viewed as such if not sometimes the figurehead for homosexuality
