@digitalfoundry I hope that someday before launch they'll show how it runs on a base PS5, which is the one most of us have, to clear up any doubts... that's one of the reasons why I haven't pre-ordered Crimson Desert yet.
@digitalfoundry Curious how the standard PS5 holds up by comparison. Playing Dragon’s Dogma on regular PS5 right now and performance has been rock solid — hoping Crimson Desert is the same.
I’m gonna say the quiet part out loud: FUCK BETHESDA. They had their chances and they failed to catch up with studios that have vastly bested them - CD Projekt Red, Larian, Warhorse, Sucker Punch and others - and now Pearl Abyss.
Currently enjoying The Witcher 3 and been keeping a wide opened eye on #CrimsonDesert and at this point I gotta ask, “What the hell is an Elder Scrolls VI? Is that some Temu media you buy at the Dollar Store? And what the hell is a Creation Engine, some made-in-China toy rip-off of something else?”

@digitalfoundry 30 fps on the $800 console....
That's what happens when you continue to use a now 7 year old CPU. PS5 Pro much like the PS4 Pro is bottlenecked by the CPU
@digitalfoundry The analysis isn’t even using the PSSR2 yet DF said and it already looks and runs great. Cant wait to see how the PSSR2 update pushes it even further.
@digitalfoundry Pushing the Pro front and center shows everyone with any cognitive capacity that Sony paid you that sweet money to promote it.
You’re nothing but glorified salesmen. Enjoy your status.
@digitalfoundry Any comment from Pearl Abyss on Denuvo for the PC version? Were the latest requirements released with it in mind? Have they tested how the game performs with it implemented?
@digitalfoundry Could you guys ask the developers if the full game is on the disc? Having physical version won't make sense if you have to download another 50gb, unless its more compressed on consoles. Thanks!
@digitalfoundry You need to redo your Crimson Desert video. Pearl Abyss likely sent you footage of their build of the game before they implemented Denuvo anti-tamper which has been well documented to have varying effects on performance. Sometimes as low as 1% to as high as 15% on overall FPS.
@digitalfoundry Great review, im not sure, you think the popin and other noise will be gone with pssr2? Im sceptical, and i wonder why they didnt made sure to send pssr2 version, looks great but had fps dips and picture look a bit soft. How much better will this be on a strong pc?
@digitalfoundry The game looks incredible but the CPU is clearly aging with big 60fps dips.
That’s why I think GTA 6 may target 40fps on PS5 Pro which is a huge upgrade over 30fps. Input lag improves, camera motion feels smoother
I do not see GTA 6 running 60fps on a Pro but 40 fps is great
