And that’s a wrap for an insane fall tournament season! Saved the best for last with the 31st annual @BCJrInv that wrapped up yesterday. A lot of early mornings with 10 events in 7 weeks and our team absolutely crushed it!! Now on to winter project work!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Bruce Martin, a legend in turfgrass pathology and a true friend to the Carolinas superintendent community. For more than 30 years, Dr. Martin advanced turfgrass research, diagnostics, and disease management at Clemson University, helping superintendents across the Carolinas and beyond. His dedication, knowledge, and kindness left a lasting mark on our industry. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many lives he impacted. His legacy will live on in the turf he helped grow.

Busy day for our team! Using the @wiedenmannusa Terra Rake on fairways/approaches followed by ⭕️ mowing at .350. On greens it’s topdressing, gypsum app, soil/pythium spray, irrigate, and venting with bayonet tines. Big thanks to @turfdoc_81 for letting us use his Terra Rake!

Extreme heat and humidity will be affecting a big part of the U.S. this week and golf course superintendents will be playing defense. If you notice some temporary changes in playing conditions, remember that slow grass is better than no grass!

Nice to have a busy maintenance Monday. Topdressing + brushing greens, dry cut in the PM, and the first ⭕️ of the year on fairways. Happy to see where things are with the up and down temps this spring!

Great to see the root growth on our new 6.5 month old 007XL Bentgrass greens, even experiencing one of the coldest winters we’ve had in the last 10 years. Excited to see the continued growth through the upcoming spring! @bentgrassdoctor

Had to say goodbye to our beloved Westie Riggs yesterday. Tough to let go after 14 wonderful years, but he loved his time on the golf course all the way to his last day. Hope you’re chasing those squirrels and golf carts on the other side of the rainbow bridge buddy!!! 😢

Still a lot of work to do to get everything clean and trees removed, but outside of the muddy water it’s at least starting to look like a golf course again.

Thankful to have gotten through Helene with much less damage than many of our colleagues in the Upstate. 🙏 for all those affected in the Southeast. 2024 has definitely thrown us some curveballs!!!

Amazed to see the root depth on our 007XL greens. Seeded 3.5 weeks ago and mowed for the 2nd time earlier this week at 0.250” and getting another cut this afternoon. @bentgrassdoctor

First mow today (day 18) at 0.275” h.o.c. on our new 007XL greens. Looking forward to watching them continue to grow together over the coming months. Now we just need Mother Nature to provide a little rain! 🌧️

Our project on holes 14-16 is slowly coming to an end. Seeded our three new greens two weeks ago with 007XL Bentgrass and have seen great germination. Excited about new cart paths on those holes this week and remaining sod hitting the ground! #007XL @bentgrassdoctor

@Turf_Joe32 @Tahoma31Bermuda @sodchick @Turf_Joe32 we completely agree about Tahoma 31. We sodded all of our collars with it 4 years ago and the results have been tremendous. It is the only Bermudagrass we have used since then.

@sodchick @Tahoma31Bermuda Tifsport isn’t great but was once deemed the latest greatest, have had Tahoma 31 for a couple years now and it’s been an exceptional grass, especially collars & I’ve tried ALL of the others & they didn’t stand up to the weather or wear & tear-just being honest
