71 children from an Orthodox Jewish school have been rescued from underground tunnels connected to a sewer system in New York. The children reportedly got lost during a trip after they began exploring what was down there. Emergency crews responded and were able to safely locate and rescue all of the children without injury.

What started as a peaceful public movement demanding basic rights has been met with lethal force. According to local reports, at least 16 civilians were killed in the latest round of gunfire. This brings the total reported death toll from the ongoing crackdown, which began on Friday, to 53. The incident marks one of the deadliest crackdowns on civilians in Pakistan-administered Jammu & Kashmir in recent years. The international community must take notice.
