Nyemar is Brazil’s all-time top scorer and has an incredible goal record, both internationally and at club level, especially when you consider how many injuries he suffered and how often he was sidelined. He finished 3rd in the Ballon d’Or twice, and even broke into the top 10 at just 19 years old while still playing in Brazil. In 2015, he was joint top scorer in the Champions League with 11 goals alongside Ronaldo and Messi despite playing out on the wing. You could argue he underachieved given his talent, but at his best, he was undeniably a world class player.
