But the mechanisms are dissimilar, and there are no provisions for this in the law... the program is more like the widely supported Child Tax Credit, which gives families broad discretion, than education tax credits that exist in most states. The Federal Scholarship Tax Credit provides new challenges for political actors and advocates, but also new opportunities for families, nonprofits, districts and others to support the country’s children. In 1943, four hundred Orthodox rabbis marched on Washington to ask President Roosevelt to save the Jews of Europe from annihilation. One of the leaders of that delegation was Rabbi Eliezer Silver, the founder of @AgudahNews. President Roosevelt refused to meet them and slipped out the back door of the White House. Today we were sitting in the Oval Office. The contrast couldn’t be greater and for that we express our deepest sense of gratitude.

We can’t solve all of the worlds issues and certainly can’t resolve DC dysfunction, but we can show up for those in our community who continue to show up to work daily, allowing our airport to operate, and ensure that they know how much we care. Little acts of kindness can make all the difference and tip the scales towards a brighter world. Don’t just Kvetch; shine.

Four Hatzalah ambulances were set ablaze in London yesterday. These Orthodox Jewish volunteers respond to all callers in their service areas, Jew and gentile alike. Hopefully the perpetrators will be brought to justice swiftly.
