@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 Yes it’s the panacea. Our system was the first in the world not long ago. Now it’s disfonctionnal due to lack of money or misused money , but still better than yours.
English

"We see horrible stories from the USA..."
Yes, you do. The healthcare here has problems. We don't die, though, while waiting in line for a procedure or waiting years to see an endocrinologist.
"So, don’t brag to much about..."
I didn't. I pointed out that socialized medicine is not the panacea that many make it out to be.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @grok Funny because I am 100% sure that my life as an european is easier than yours but your country has a better GPD so you are glad.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @grok USA have exactly the same problems + healthcare.
I am currently on vacation in Britanny next to the see and my biggest problem is to choose the wine to go with oysters. And believe me, there are a lot of french on vacation too because we can.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 A lot of nonsense there… whatever. Stay with your system, we stay with ours. I will never ever stress for my healthcare bill, you will. Never mind. Good luck.
English

I have no income yet I get medical care. You have a misperception of our system. Yes, it is significantly imperfect but getting the government involved only makes things worse.
"I don’t want to live in a country where you can..."
We have something Europe doesn't have. It is referred to as the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..."
I don't go to jail for saying something about pedophiles or the Quran or child rapists, you know, like in Great Britain. If you value Socialized medicine, great. If you value freedom, move to the U.S.
If medicine is a human right, were the people who were guillotined in France able to get "free" healthcare after their heads were removed from their bodies? Healthcare is only made a right if you can afford it. Germany had its car companies make it a right to have a job... Until they began to run out of money. You only make healthcare a right by forcing other people to pay taxes for the healthcare infrastructure. Without that force, there would be no "right."
English

I don't doubt his story but the financial details of his life are not given so no judgement can be made. I also have no doubt that his income is greater than mine and at his age, his healthcare is covered by Medicare in the U.S. Life is tough and not just for him. You want to live in paradise? Move to heaven.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 I think they need care and they have no other solution. If you are ok with that, if you are not ashamed of a so called rich society who allows that, pray to not need healthcare if life turns shit for you. Because until 50 everything is fine, after it’s a bet.
English

We have Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, private insurance, cash and free emergency room care for those who can't/won't pay. As to this report, it shows people accessing volunteer treatments that are no or little cost to them. Who wouldn't go for something that is given to them at no cost. I would accept a car if someone gave it to me at no cost. I would accept a computer if someone gave it to me at no cost. People love free stuff.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 We know and that’s why we pay taxes and it’s ok for Europeans. Nobody wants to end this system. I don’t want to live in a country where you can get care only if you are rich, everybody can get care , it’s minimum human rights.
English

@AbFabEd @Laurie0801 Your "free" healthcare isn't free, don't you know. The doctors, nurses, janitors, administrators, etc., don't work for free. The buildings aren't free. The electricity and garbage collection aren't free.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 We don’t have that in Europe because we don’t need that because, guess what? Universal healthcare.
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 What did you say about waiting list and affordability in the US?
60 Minutes@60Minutes
A nonprofit is bringing free health care to Americans who can’t afford it. Some patients wait days and sleep in their cars for treatment. Scott Pelley reports, Sunday. 60Minutes.com
English

@ForgiveEveryDay @Laurie0801 Our life expectancy is better in Europe so guess who have a better healthcare?
English

By universal healthcare I presume you mean socialized medicine which is great if you don't mind dying while waiting in line for your procedure. You know, like in Great Britain, Canada, Cuba, et al. Doesn't universal healthcare sound so much better than socialized medicine, which is why you use it.
English

@ZeOnlyGui @GerardAraud Don’t try to find excuses to Hitler. With or without Versailles he would have invaded Europe.
English

@ZeOnlyGui @GerardAraud Germany completly destroyed east of France. Towns and villages ruined. Germany had not one house destroyed. So they had to pay. Fair.
English

@RinseHold @Telegraph But to be the dog of the USA is ok for you… Starmer don’t bend the knee for once and England lift his head, you should be happy as a patriot . But you are not.
English

@Telegraph Either Starmer is an utter imbecile or he’s not really working for the British public interest.
Every new deal he makes is an appalling capitulation to foreign powers with vast cost to the taxpayer.

Pretty soon Mike will start telling me how to hit a serve or something….

NEW: Speaker Mike Johnson, an evangelical with no theological training, says Pope Leo XIV doesn’t understand Catholic just war doctrine. Pope Leo XIV’s patron, St. Augustine, invented the Catholic just war doctrine.
