Camera glasses might just be so socially unacceptable that we should just surgically remove eyes in place of cybernetic camera eyes

Today we added a RoboTron cocktail to the #PANDEMiCADE collection.
This is exceptional condition w original hardware, sticks & art. The owner told me it was never at an #arcade & home-use only.
Quite a rare piece of #videogame history & amazing game that stands the test of time.

Today marks the 30th Anniversary of Virtual On. Completely revolutionary in ways that don’t get acknowledged often (this is probably the first game with Z targeting for example). Started a whole subgenre the west still isn’t into (but I know fellow Dreamcast owners all played it)

Finally restored one of my “grail” terminals I bought as broken 8 years ago. This was top of the line graphics in 1976 and still stunning today!

Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) PDP-11/70 minicomputer system, RK05 cartridge disk drives with removable packs, each holding about 2.5 MB, TS05 9-track magnetic tape drive for data backup and storage. This setup gave you 600MB of storage.

@davepl1968 If you can’t figure out how to interface with the vector processor (which would be a shame), you could try bypassing all that where the processor XYZ outputs to the deflection amplifiers, and insert you own XYZ signals. The Z might be tricky though if it’s pulse width modulation.

@webmonkees Howdy! Any chance you've got something to DRIVE these displays?
I was going to build a USB-HP bridge with an ESP32, but that's a pretty big nugget to bite off for a software guy like me.
If there was an HP box I could buy and plug in and drive it, I'd search for that!

I should clarify, the death cap was not failing, it was perfectly fine. The reason I’m seeing 117v AC is because of the on/off/on switch was sending line voltage to the chassis (via this cap). If I move to the other on side (flipping polarity) it would put neutral on the chassis.

@kite_VR_noe @ArcadeFever The adjustments were a challenge. Even the PCB is very troublesome. I had to reseat every ribbon cable, and ROM to get the game to work properly. Of course I had to pose with it.
