By adding bacteria to our gut, removing them, or changing what we eat, we could reduce our risk of developing diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. In collaboration with @DanielJDrucker we made the surprising observation 10+ years ago that GLP-1R deficient mice dies. Further work led by @GreinerTU with support from @MucinBiology revealed involvement of #gobletcells.
