@KCBGroup through @KCBUganda is among five banks that the #EACOP company announced as having provided funding have marked themselves as enablers of #ClimateChaos, environmental destruction and continued exploitation of Ugandan and Tanzanian resources for the benefit of TNCs.

We condemn these unnecessary and violent arrests of activists, students and anyone who dares to question this controversial project. We also condemn @stanbicug for choosing profits over people, the climate and the environment.

A terrible decision from these five banks. But also, while EACOP sells this as "big news", the amount secured is undisclosed, likely to be a small part of what is needed, and project is still not fully financed.
