It's a lot easier to liter your game with fetch quests to pad out the runtime than to squeeze every last bit of good story into a Witcher or BG3 game. You can't use the games that are the exception as if they are the rule.

"Dollar-per-hour" is the worst thing to happen to modern game design. Devs stretch their games with mindless chores just to justify the price tag. You refuse to pay full price for a 20-hour game, but data shows that less than 30% of players actually finish 60+ hour games. I'd much rather pay for 20 dense hours with zero filler than 60 bloated hours of map clearing. The Uncharted series is a perfect example of this. Amazing pacing with zero fluff. Exactly as long as they need to be. We need to start valuing density over duration again.

@MADkurious @TheRooster Wrong, our time is finite, and our most valuable resource, which is why wasting it on bloated 60-80 hrs games with fetch quests is the worst way to design games. Not only is it busy work, but it doesn't respect our time as consumers. That's the argument against bloated games.

I’ve listened. I’ve reflected. I’ve grown. After losing 6,000 followers for buying a Cybertruck, I realized I needed a vehicle that better aligns with my followers’ environmental expectations and moral values. So I traded it in for a beauty that gets 7 MPG and personally accelerates glacier melt every time I tap the gas pedal. The good news is it has absolutely no connection to Elon Musk.
