I’m a librarian. We have rules. Strict ones. A little girl, maybe 9, came to my desk trembling. She pushed a copy of Harry Potter across the counter. It was ruined. Soaked. Muddy. "I... I dropped it in a puddle," she whispered. "I don't have the money to replace it." She was terrified. I looked at her file. She checked out three books a week. Never late. I looked at the book. Then I looked at her cheap, worn-out sneakers. I scanned the book. beep. "What book?" I asked. She looked confused. "The one... right there." I slid the ruined book into the trash can behind me. "I don't see a book. Our system says you returned it yesterday. Must have been a glitch." I grabbed a brand new copy from the shelf and handed it to her. "This one is checked out to you now. Try to keep it dry, okay?" She didn't say a word. She just grabbed my hand, squeezed it hard, and ran off. I paid for the lost book out of my paycheck. Best $15 I ever spent.

Does anyone knows who is the artist who made those concepts of ff9 locations ? I've been looking for a name for like 2 hours and the only names that i can find are those of the character designers.

Opened calls for an assistant lead because Lucid9 tasks were piling up. Guy does a bit, then vanishes for months—leaving me with more to handle. Now I’m stuck: grind through it solo (already exhausting) or waste more time hunting for someone reliable. Frustrating doesn’t cut it.

@BeckWreck Only give them the option of 18, 20 or 22% and see how that goes. A follow up question - could those people afford the tip or not?

Why is it that Americans will rage against a concept like UBI and yet pay a 20% tip on everything? You're already taxing yourselves to pay people that companies don't want to pay, why not just formalise it?

@MusicOfLee Probably not what you're looking for, but for me it's the Bach concertos for unaccompanied harpsichord. I did enough study of them for me not to have to think about them but it's also not true ambient. For that, I agree that Music for Airports is top notch.

What are your favourite pieces of "ambient" music? Ideally something that you actually do find genuinely interesting and engaging, but still qualifies as ambient for you.
