@bagischandrak @Andrew86889279 Pretty much what @bagischandrak said. Additionally, as I have mentioned many times on the Roblox forum, detection and consequences are decoupled. Claims by cheat developers to be undetected just because there have been no consequences for some time are rather misleading.

@Andrew86889279 @Bitdancer He can for sure not respond to this but you can assume that eventually, external exploits will begin to get detected too, although they most likely physically can't detect externals with their current tools. They're cracking down on windows executors now, android should be next.

I asked Grok to create a sprite sheet of a running Chibi Bitdancer in pixel art style. I'm pretty happy with the result, it's perfect for placeholder graphics during game development.

@RoGoldOfficial reminder this is actively tampering with the anti tamper meant to prevent multiple instances and bypassing it @Bitdancer would agree

👥 Run 3 Roblox Accounts at once. For free. With RoGold Ultimate App, you can run up to 3 Roblox instances at the same time, or unlimited for Ultimate users. 🔥 And for Ultimate users, the app just became your new home. Use RoGold Ultimate from the app, no browser needed.

@Bitdancer since you can't talk specifics, would you say the non-technical hurdles are usually more about corporate priorities, or more about the legal cat-and-mouse game with the exploit developers themselves? (assuming it's the first rather than the latter)

@azulacs Oh, how much I would love to talk about it, but I can't. I've always dreamed of writing a book about my work experience in Silicon Valley. Here's a spoiler: Technical hurdles are typically the easier part.

@Bitdancer was it that hard to take care of the current exploits on the market rather than only one specific?

@cmdsoftworks @HeeditZ69 I was thinking of a South American country, but with all that stuff that's going on in the world, I might just default back to Japan. I really love Japanese food.

@gamefromscratch There is a lot of good LitRPG out there. My personal favorite is The Primal Hunter series by Zogarth.

So I recently found the addiction that is LitRPG. I binged Dungeon Crawler Carl in days. I binged the (IMHO) good but slightly worse He Who Fights Monsters after. If you're into LitRPG, especially on Audible, I'm looking for my next addiction if you can make a recommendation.

@archwinning1 At least with Brave and a custom filter, you can get rid of some stuff. I filter the Shorts out with a custom filter that looks like this: "youtube.com##ytd-rich-shelf-renderer[is-shorts]"

@def_meditext This is not how cooperation works. The engineers certainly are not the ones who make these kinds of decisions.

@Bitdancer Maybe that would explain why ROBLOX Corporation engineers never took the decision to ever release the Linux client and studio binaries.

Hyperion certainly does need some extra memory, but my point is that there is more than one factor as to why the client needs more memory now than it did 10 years ago. I think, though, that we are essentially talking about the same thing. A lot of new features have been added since, which of course also require more memory. Whether they are useful or not can only be judged by you guys.

@lifeintel9 @Bitdancer @Roblox Yeah, but someone actually managed to compile the 2016 Roblox client in 64 bit and performed better, consumed way less memory since it lacked Hyperion, Luau and the fancy garbage Corescripts, at an astounding 250 MB (32 bit clients at the time consume 100-200 MB)

Playing on a Windows PC? The Roblox app now runs in the background so you never miss an update, game invite, connection request, event notification and more.

@Roblox This is bad. After Roblox has implemented Hyperion in their clients and migrated to 64 bit, the app itself got extremely bloated and consumes 25-50% more than the older clients (in comparison, around 2023, the internal 64 bit clients consumed ~1.15 GB, while 32 bit 200-350 MB)

@Bitdancer bitdancer i just have a question is anything gonna be done against the “volt” executor? Pretty sure its a awp rebrand that still bypasses hyperion.

Trying to get some coding done before the winter break ends. Here's a screenshot of Lord of Terror, a Diablo I clone using Raylib for rendering and my custom Raylib backend SAL.

Stopping cheating and exploiting is almost impossible. Look at Riot, they pull all kinds of tricks, including kernel-mode drivers and UEFI boot services, yet there are still exploiters who manage to circumvent them. Expecting Hyperion, a user-mode antitamper software, to stop cheating is just not realistic. Could we use a driver, enforce Secure Boot, and leverage the TPM? Sure, but this would come at the cost of disallowing older hardware and older Windows versions and, of course, a much more complicated setup process. So no, I don't think Hyperion will ever stop people from exploiting completely, but it does raise the bar so exploiting is more expensive. This will naturally eliminate a group of cheaters that are not willing to, or can't afford to pay for exploits.
