Steph misses at the buzzer -- he finishes with 29 points in 26 minutes. He was 11-for-21 from the field and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. A little rusty in the beginning but going rolling late.

I think ESPN specifically really did a disservice to fans explaining what happened in 2015. Grizzlies series was won when GSW decided to put a center on Tony Allen (and wings on ZBo/Gasol who were killing them) and Cavs series was over minute they stopped tryin to match size and went small with speed.

Emphasized more ball movement and most importantly reads and improvisation offensively-concepts more than sets. First high level team that switched a lot and went small doing it. First high profile putting center on wing non-shooter. First offense built on off ball movement for 3s.

@mdotbrown The 60s and 80s had an even faster pace than this era. Why weren't they dealing with these injuries? I personally think these guys come in half dead from being ran into the ground in AAU

@owaddled @LawMurrayTheNU Agree, I rewatched a 84 Lakers /Celtics and couldn’t get over how everything was condensed. Also Bird and Magic were incredible. The are not given their due now as everyone who has recency bias . These dudes were6-9 and could frickin handle

Here were his measurements and testing. The greatest combo of physical traits and athletic performance/testing I've ever seen. He's extremely raw and just started playing so he's a practice squad type at best but teams bet on traits so he he could be a late 7th or a PFA.

@TheChozen10427 @PLConnelly It’s because the NFL gets so much TV money that’s why they are profitable from just that income. It’s divided equally among all teams so thanks to the socialistic economics - KC and LA get the same check . They also gave a hard cap- unlike NBA/MLB

@PLConnelly The difference is that unfortunately the players run the nba. The shield/teams/owners run the NFL. If the Super Bowl is Green Bay vs Pittsburgh nobody nobody would be like “awe man no super market team”

I'm an NBA fan, have traveled 3 hrs to Grizzlies games, and had a great time. I've never understood this weird, self-defeating obsession w/ markets in NBA culture. Pundits, podcasters & players obsess about it like no other pro league. Should the Chiefs just move out of KC?

Everything in the NBA is obsessed with big markets to the point where it feels like people only want teams in NY, LA, Miami & Houston. Oakland lost their team to San Francisco and the soul was completely sucked out of the Warriors’ home arena. Maybe, just maybe, having teams in some of those smaller markets where the real fans aren’t priced out is good for the league.
