@CW_Chambers @dommiecito @khrisody There were hints that the ethics were wrong to anyone with eyes on episode 1 at 59:03 when Amin reads Joe Sanberg's email about a sweetner out of context. Their own video editors show the parts he's skipping.

I’m not going to criticize Pablo Torre for bringing the story to light—by most accounts, there were legitimate questions that needed answers. But the way he handled the reporting, and especially the tone he took toward the people involved, pushed it into a strange space. Once the Clippers declined to comment, he either refused—or at least appeared unwilling—to seriously engage with alternative explanations. The framing became: “the Clippers did this, here’s how,” and anyone questioning that was dismissed as a Steve Ballmer loyalist. We saw a similar reaction when Mark Cuban pushed back—he was met with immediate criticism rather than real engagement. There was also a broader tone throughout the reporting that felt off. The way billionaires were discussed—this assumption that they’ll do anything to win, disregard rules, operate without limits—came across as more ideological than analytical. It lacked nuance and, at times, coherence. But the strangest part is how the spotlight was placed. Based on Torre’s rhetoric, Ballmer was treated as the central figure, when the focus arguably should have been on Joe Sandberg and his role within Aspiration.

@dommiecito @CW_Chambers @khrisody His reporting sometimes leaves out context. He made a big deal out of Ballmer dontaring to the Golden State Opportunity foundation but left out that their website clearly distances themselves from Sanberg before Ballmer's donation.

@CW_Chambers @owaddled @khrisody there’s nothing wrong with his reporting but there is also no concrete proof of ANYTHING. when other journalist (who aren’t married to this story like pablo is) look into it, the holes really start to show. just read that new espn article that says the kawhi contract is standard

@dommiecito @CW_Chambers @khrisody Exactly. Every time a real journalist like Mike Vorkunov or Baxter Holmes releases an article on the story Pablo's sensationalist "isn't this weird" claims take a hit.

@CW_Chambers @khrisody the research wasn’t impeccable. it was mostly pulling up documents and hinting at foul play. drawing imaginary lines through investments. the truth is there was NEVER any solid evidence of salary cap circumvention. there was contracts and “👀 look at this, this is weird right?”

If I told you a player had 51 points But 24 of those points came after player's team trailed by 30 in the 4th quarter How would y'all assess that 🤔

@LAClippersFilm Maybe I'm a dinosaur, but what's the appeal of the Essentials stuff? They look nice but not like...extraordinary?

@LawMurrayTheNU It looked like a faster pace going by shots per game but the offenses were more condensed, less off ball movement , rotations shorter. I would love to see tracking data of 84 championship

Basketball players who got hurt in the 60s and 80s were disappeared And there wasn’t nearly the same number of players getting to and past Year 15 And there wasn’t any social media asking why certain players just fell off lol
SaveYourSelfBlackMan@NoMoreMatrix

@mdotbrown The 60s and 80s had an even faster pace than this era. Why weren't they dealing with these injuries? I personally think these guys come in half dead from being ran into the ground in AAU

@1stSportsGuru @JamCristopher If there's no plan to maximize talent then why is John Collins shooting the best from 3 of his career. DJ 2nd best from 3 for his career. Kris Dunn best of his career for a full season. That's coaching.

The greater & more honest observation & question is what has been the Clippers gm plan/approach from their standpoint going into each gm. It is apparent to me that we roll out the ball & play based on Kawhi's talent as opposed to a comprehensive gm plan to maximize the entire team & each player. To me thats coaching or the lack thereof. Thats the bigger & more important question/observation. We are reactionary as opposed to imposing our will/gm plan🤔 Your thoughts

@PinkMoon___8 @JamCristopher Lol I'm a clippers fan and I think you're far off base. They have 3 really good guards in Fox, Castle, Harper. Vassell and Champagnie get up 2x as many threes as Collins and DJones.

@JamCristopher This is because they're very well coached. Clippers have a better roster than Spurs without Wemby. It's not even close. But there is a great coach, who created an offense with great structure, discipline, ideas. And there is Tyronn Lue.
